Doug Vogt’s Recurrent Solar Nova Theory
Second of three theories why there are cyclic Earth cataclysms
In my first blog titled “Cycles and Shifts,” I wrote about Doug Vogt and how he came up with his notion of a cosmic clock cycle. This clock cycle seems to occur about every 12,068 years, a number Doug Vogt calculated based on recurrent solar magnetic reversals and their relation to a Gleissberg cycle. I won’t go into more detail about this here. You can read more about Gleissberg cycles and the clock cycle in my first blog.
From his research, he concluded that the sun must nova every 12,068 years in accordance with his clock cycle. Since the sun has recurrent nova, similar to Ben Davidson’s theory, the sun does not go supernova and be destroyed. Doug was adamant about saying the sun novas instead of micronovas. He did not believe in the micronova theory. When the sun does nova, it will cause a geomagnetic reversal. Here is what he postulates happens during a geomagnetic reversal.
When the sun novas, it sends a dust shell which will hit Earth in about 17 to 18 hours. The Earth normally spins 1,000 miles per hour at the equator. After the solar nova, Earth’s rotation stops for about seven to eight hours but the oceans keep moving causing catastrophic flooding. Doug found proof of this by studying the deep sea canyons on the coasts.

On the sun-facing side of the Earth, he calculates that about 700 to 800 feet of ocean will evaporate. This enormous energy will heat up the inner core of Earth which then heats up the mantle and then the crust. He noted that all mountain ranges have a North-South orientation perpendicular to the direction of force during a pole reversal. A change in electromagnetic energy of the Earth can release the crust to flow freely. The plates crash into each other and earthquakes will last for hours to days until the plates come to rest. Even after 240 days post reversal, volcanos are still erupting. The Earth now rotates in the opposite direction. What is happening inside the Earth to allow it to change direction?
In a nutshell, here is what happens at the Earth’s core during the reversal according to Doug Vogt. The process of reversal, which may last between six and thirty minutes, begins by the Earth’s rotation slowing down. He predicts that inertia will disappear within the center of the Earth. A carrier wave that the clock cycle is on changes its direction. This in turn changes the direction of rotation of the Earth. Inertia disappears because at the time of the reversal, no matter exists allowing the “core” to move freely. How can that be?
Energy carries information. When matter disappears, only information exists. Experiments using high voltage and high frequency, which are present during a reversal, can produce “fantom” leaves where part of a leaf looks like bubbles of energy. This is seen in the image on the right to the right of the cut line below. Doug used this experiment to validate his conclusion that only information will exist during the time of the reversal. He claims that if you look at your hand during the reversal, it will look like bubbles of light. Matter returns and the Earth increases its speed in the opposite direction at the same rate at which it slowed down.

As you can see, Doug Vogt’s recurrent solar nova theory is a bit different that Ben Davidson’s recurrent micronova theory. In my next blog, I will discuss Dr. Paul LaViolette’s Galactic Superwave Theory.
